The Planetoids are a German Band based in Hannover consisting of 3 members. Jonas Sercombe on guitar doubling as lead vocals, Sven Templin on synth and bass, and Luca Ahlers on drums. This multi-faceted band has a plethora of creative perspectives bursting through their music. Their music is a blend of indie/synth pop which blends digital, analog, and glittery sounds.The vibrant trio have a layered musical ability as they often unpack matters of the heart, mind and sciences.

The Planetoids were established in 2014 and have since then embarked on a journey that gives room for their creativity to unfold purely and authentically, each member being well versed in multiple instruments has contributed to a synergy in their sound on and off the stage, they do not shy away from the quirks and abstractness of the world but at the core the visual and musical collages they create speak to the multifacetedness of the human experience.

What happens when you take a California based singer-songwriter and trap him in a basement with a German indie-pop producer? One: They fall in love. Two: You get beach – a sparkling pop band, a brilliant blend of buoyant, breezy beats and bold bass. It’s comprised of San Francisco born singer-songwriter, Asher Witkin, and Hannover native, Jonas Sercombe, with a little help from sunny sensation Graham Candy and brilliant Beatenberg’s Robin Brink.

Asher began his career in music performing with some of the biggest acts in the world. He’s sang with Coldplay, Daveed Diggs, Alexander Rybak, Woody Goss, and recorded vocals for Kehlani. Jonas is the lead singer for The Planetoids, a disco inspired pop band with regular performances all around the world. He has produced songs with and for a diverse range of artists in the past, and is one of the founders of Pubic Hair Records. Asher and Jonas met at Popakademie in Mannheim, Germany in 2021. They’ve been writing together ever since.

beach is what happens when you were just a little too young to live through the 80s, but aren’t quite satisfied with leaving those sonic years behind. It’s what happens when you take a singer-songwriter and give him a glittering, purple stratocaster. It’s what happens when you take one of the greatest young producers of this generation and pair him with a West Coast singer set on world domination.
